Port Royal Yacht> McCann Erickson
This is a new commercial for Port Royal Beer with McCann Erickson Honduras, produced by Jean Sharony @ The Point Production, Miami. My third project for Port Royal Beer, at this time, the script described a series of people reacting to some intriguing phenomena, finally we discover it’s a yacht, with a moving party, through buildings in a ‘very graphic and modern’ city. A good opportunity to introduce the new packaging and to refresh the brand, leader in Honduras’s premium beer market. All of this in the same ‘Port Royal visual mood’ we developed in two previous spots. As we had to shoot in Venezuela, and having in mind that Caracas has not so many “modern” buildings, we decided to accomplished it by shooting the yacht there and compositing later it to pictures of the tall modern buildings from Santiago de Chile. Filmed on various locations, three days shooting, one in Caracas city, one night shoot for the party with the yacht in the coast (over a huge blue screen background), and finally one here in Santiago de Chile for the building skyline back plates. The post process was very fluid, as we used the Red One camera, and as I love Hi Def we decided to post in full HD to get better integration and better use of keys. We had around a month to accomplish all the Vfx, as I live in Santiago, I was able to work with the composition artists during the entire process, in the new MStudio Post House. I love to use a lot of lens flares, atmospheric lights and lots of particles to achieve the unique and special look, some in camera, many more in post. Exec.
